BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. –
Kylee Garrison had eight kills to lead the Gardner-Webb attack, yet the Runnin' Bulldogs fell in straight sets to visiting Campbell on Saturday afternoon in Big South Conference volleyball action inside Paul Porter Arena.
Gardner-Webb (7-14, 1-7 Big South) dropped all three sets to Campbell (6-12, 4-4 Big South) by scores of 25-12, 25-22, and 25-19.
The Runnin' Bulldogs had 30 kills on 81 attempts, attacking at a .173 rate, while the Camels collected 45 kills on 88 swings for a .330 attacking percentage.
Garrison led the GWU attack with eight kills on 13 swings, followed by
Hannah Lancaster with seven smashes.
Amanda Sahm provided a team-best 22 assists.
Elizabeth Griffith had three total blocks to lead the 'Dogs, while
Charissa Coleman tallied a team-high seven digs.
Campbell had three attackers reach double-digit kills, as Allena Heath and Jessica Stocking each had 12 kills, followed by Sarah Colla with 11. Anna Grace Holdford dished out a match-high 39 assists.
Colla also had four total blocks to lead the Camels, while Heath led the team in digs with nine.
The Runnin' Bulldogs hit the road for their next match on Friday, October 19 at Radford. The match is set for a 6:00 pm start time and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
