CHARLESTON, S.C. – Gardner-Webb had a double-double performance from senior
Amanda Sahm, yet the Runnin' Bulldogs would fall to Charleston Southern in four sets in Big South Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
Gardner-Webb (7-20, 1-13 Big South) attacked at a .072 rate, tallying 40 kills on 138 swings, yet committed 30 attacking errors. Charleston Southern (11-11, 6-8 Big South) had a robust .277 attacking percentage, collecting 51 kills on 130 swings with 15 errors.
Kylee Garrison was GWU's leading attacker with 10 kills on 29 attempts. Sahm had a team-best 31 assists to go along with 12 digs for a double-double.
Charissa Coleman led the 'Dogs in digs with 14, while
Elizabeth Griffith had a team-best three total blocks.
The Buccaneers were paced offensively by Addison Kaderli, who had 12 kills on 28 swings for the evening. Rachel Smith contributed with a match-high 35 assists.
Madison Martin led CSU in digs with 19, while Brooke Monssen had a match-high five total blocks.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday evening at Winthrop. The match is slated for a 7:00 pm start time with live coverage on ESPN+.
