Runnin' Bulldogs Welcome High Scoring Campbell on Wednesday Night

THE GAME
Gardner-Webb hosts in-state foe Campbell in another critical Big South Conference contest Wednesday night. Opening tip is set for 7:00 pm in Paul Porter Arena. The game will stream live on the Big South Network (bigsouthsports.com), with Fabian Fuentes on the call from his usual location.

GARDNER-WEBB QUICK LOOK
•  Gardner-Webb has gone 6-5 this season in games decided by two possessions or less – or in overtime. One of those
losses came at UCF in November (68-65). GWU is 6-2 in those type games against Big South Conference foes this
season. The Runnin' Bulldogs were only 1-8 in those games last season.

•   GWU is 10-0 at home this season to date, and has a 12-game home win streak that dates back to last February 9. The
current streak is the longest in Gardner-Webb's Division I history (since 2002-2003). The school-record for
consecutive home wins is an ambitious 82 games in historic Bost Gymnasium during the 1970s.

•  Gardner-Webb has found three double figures scorers for the second season in a row, with David Efianayi (17.4 ppg),
DJ Laster (13.9 ppg) and Liam O'Reilly (13.9 ppg) each enjoying career-best years. Freshman point guard Jaheam
Cornwall is averaging a healthy 10.1 ppg in league games so far in 2017-2018.

•  Efianayi remains among the Big South's top scorers this season (17.4 ppg) and has made his mark once again
at the free throw line. The Orlando, Fla., slasher saw his string of 24 consecutive made free throws snapped Saturday
vs. Charleston Southern, but has connected at an 80.9 percent clip this season. Efianayi tied a career-best point total
with 31 markers earlier this season at Campbell (Jan. 3) and has made 100 free throws for the second season in a row.
Efianayi ranks second in the Big South with 110 made free throws so far this season (110-of-136).

•  Efianayi is averaging 18.3 points per game vs. the top third of the league and has made 24-of-26 free throws
combined in those four games against Winthrop, UNC Asheville and Radford (x2).

•  Point guard and standout sixth man Jaheam Cornwall was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week on
February 5 following another outstanding string of games. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native averaged 16.5 points and shot
64.3 percent from the floor in games vs. Radford and Charleston Southern. He netted a career-best 19 points at
Radford in a narrow loss. Since returning from injury on January 27, Cornwall has averaged 16.7 points and is
shooting a sizzling 76.2 percent from the floor. He has also made 9-of-10 free throws since his return.

•  The Runnin' Bulldogs have been markedly better – on both ends of the court – in Paul Porter Arena this season. GWU
is averaging 76.4 points per game on its home court, shooting 48.4 percent as a team and limiting opponents to a 37.2
percent average. The defensive splits are more drastic in league games, where visiting teams are shooting just 20.3
percent (25-of-123) from three-point range in six games (54.2 ppg). Gardner-Webb is allowing teams to shoot 36.3
percent from three-point range in its six league road games (49-of-135).

•  Center L'Hassane Niangane continued to perform well in the paint vs. Longwood (1/27), blocking a career-best four
shots to go with seven rebounds – including six key caroms on the offensive glass. The 6-foot-10 senior pulled down a
career-best 12 rebounds in the January 12 win over Radford. He is averaging 5.7 rebounds and blocking 1.8 shots
per game vs. Big South foes at home this season (two starts, six games).

•  Head coach Tim Craft is only three wins away from becoming just third head coach in Big South history to win at
least 15 games in each of his first five seasons in the league. Gardner-Webb is within striking distance of posting
its sixth winning season in a row as well, a feat not accomplished in Boiling Springs since the NAIA era.

•   Gardner-Webb has won two in a row in the series to hold an 18-13 advantage, with both wins coming away from home in Buies Creek.
Campbell won the last meeting in Boiling Springs, cruising to a 76-60 win on January 11, 2017. Chris Clemons scorched the nets for
28 points in that win. Gardner-Webb's last win over Campbell in Paul Porter Arena came on January 6, 2016 (71-68).
