FARMVILLE, Va. - The Runnin' Bulldogs plated runs in six different innings, while giving up no extra base hits to shut out Longwood by a 12-0 score in Sunday's nightcap.
GWU closes the regular season with a 29-15 overall record and 14-13 in Big South play. Longwood now sits at 17-36 overall and 9-18 in league play.

Gardner-Webb scratched first in the top of the second inning.Â
Chandler Redmond led off the frame by ripping a double to right field, and with two outs he would score on a double to left field by
Chris Clary.

The 'Dogs added a pair of runs in the top of the third after a throwing error by Longwood shortstop Eli Mercado allowed
Mickey Dugan and
Mason Fox to score, giving GWU a 3-0 edge.

Gardner-Webb scored once again in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by
Taber Mongero to hold a 4-0 advantage.

GWU tacked on another run to their lead in the top of the seventh inning to take a 5-0 lead on a RBI single to third base by Fox.

The Diamond 'Dogs put the game out of reach in the eighth, plating six runs on a pair of base hits, two sacrifice fly balls, and a bases-loaded walk to lead Longwood by a 11-0 score.

One more run was scored by GWU in the top of the ninth on a RBI groundout by
Trent Jones.

Fox (4-6) earned the win for GWU, working four scoreless innings on the mound, scattering a pair of base hits while fanning four batters.Â
Isaac Campbell worked two frames, allowing just two hits with three strikeouts, while
Tyler Johnson,
Corey Howard, and
Wil Sellers each worked one scoreless inning.

Zack Potojecki (1-3) took the loss for the Lancers, giving up two earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts in four innings. Longwood used a total of seven pitchers throughout the contest.

Gardner-Webb had ten base hits, with Fox (2-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI), Dugan (2-for-6, RBI), and Clary (2-for-3, 2 2B, RBI) each having multiple hits on the game.

Longwood had seven hits, led by Grant Keller (2-for-4).
