LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Gardner-Webb women's indoor track and field team took home a seventh place finish at the 2019 Big South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, taking place at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Va.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished with 32 total points to place seventh overall. Hampton was crowed the overall team champions.
Three new personal bests were set in Saturday's events.
Karin Sastre took home All-Conference honors in the pole vault, placing third with a mark of 3.65 meters, setting a new PR with a mark that ranks as the third-best in GWU history.
Louise Schmidtgen finished fifth at 3.35 meters., a new personal record.
Sastre was also named to the Big South's All-Academic team.
Petra Jakeljic finished fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 17.31 meters.
Cailen Blaire finished seventh with a toss of 14.98 meters, followed by
Taliyah Wade in eighth at 14.07 meters, a new PR.
Arleasia McGee placed 16
th with a mark of 11.91 meters.
Diviana Forrest placed sixth in the 400-meter dash finals, timing in at 58.51 seconds.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of
Diviana Forrest,
Khalilah Conway,
Hannah Sparacio, and
Hannah Jones finished sixth with a time of 4:02.02
Sandra Bolstad finished 16
th in the mile run, clocking in at 5:55.91.
