
Tim Bennett Named 2018-19 CCSA Men’s Swimmer of the Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb freshman Tim Bennett has been named the 2018-19 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Men's Swimmer of the Year, as announced by the CCSA office Tuesday afternoon.
Bennett (Fishers, Ind. / North Central HS) was Gardner-Webb's top performer at the 2019 CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships with three first-place finishes and six All-Conference times which saw him earn the Men's Most Outstanding Freshman Performer of the Championship Award.
Individually, Bennett took home the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke titles with times of 48.00 seconds and 49.01 seconds respectively. He was also part of the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished with a time of 1:21.06.
Bennett also placed third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:48.28, and was part of the second-place 400-yard medley relay team that clocked in at 3:17.74 and the third-place 800-yard freestyle relay team that timed in at 6:39.48.
