Runnin’ Bulldogs Place Tenth in Season-Opening Golfweek Program Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's golf team opened the 2019-20 season with a tenth-place finish at the 2019 Golfweek Program Challenge.
The tournament was played on the 6,526-yard (Par 70) Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, S.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished just one stroke behind both George Mason and Stephen F. Austin in the team standings. Jacksonville won the tournament by three strokes over Jacksonville State.
Zack Byers led Gardner-Webb (68-71-71-211), finishing in a tie for 18th individually. Jake Scruggs (77-70-69-216) was five strokes back, tying for 36th.
Andy Yang (71-71-75-217), Steffen Smith (71-79-70-220), and Max White (75-74-74-223) rounded out Gardner-Webb's group.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action on September 23, taking part in the two-day River Run Intercollegiate in Davidson, N.C.
