Big South Releases 2021 Men’s Soccer Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Big South Conference released its 2021 soccer schedules on Thursday afternoon, and the men's schedule includes an eight-match slate for each team. Each team will be allowed to play up to three non-conference games starting on Sunday, February 14th. The Big South Men's Soccer Championship Semifinals and Finals will be held the week of April 12-18, with those dates to be determined at a later time.
Gardner-Webb Men's Soccer, led by 33rd-year head coach Tony Setzer, will open the 2021 season on the road in a non-conference matchup against VMI on Sunday February 14th. The first home game for the Runnin' Bulldogs will be on Wednesday, February 24th against UNC Greensboro on the home turf at Greene-Harbison Stadium.
The Runnin' Bulldogs men's soccer schedule includes home games against UNC Greensboro (Feb 24th), Radford (Feb. 28th), Furman (March 2nd), Presbyterian (March 14th), USC Upstate (April 3rd), and Campbell (April 8th). With away games at VMI (Feb. 14th), High Point (Feb. 21st), Longwood (March 7th), Winthrop (March 21st), and UNC Asheville (March 28th).

Contingencies were built into the schedule to allow flexibility for completing the season in full. Each squad will have a floating mid-week match that will be scheduled during the first half of the season and no later than March 17. Matches scheduled for Sundays can be moved to the previous Friday/Saturday or the following Monday, if necessary.
The top four teams in the final conference standings will advance to the Big South Men's Soccer Championship, which will be hosted by the higher seeded team throughout. The champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
