BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb wrestling program has released its schedule for the 2021 season, highlighted by five bouts inside Paul Porter Arena.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs open the season on January 3, hosting in-state foe N.C. State in dual action at 1:00 pm.
 
GWU then travels to Virginia for a dual meet on January 9 in Charlottesville, Va.
 
Gardner-Webb opens Southern Conference action on January 17, hosting both Chattanooga and The Citadel.  The 'Dogs square off against the Mocs at 2:30 pm before taking on The Citadel at 4:00 pm.  Chattanooga and The Citadel will face each other at 1:00 pm that afternoon.
 
The following weekend, GWU will compete against Campbell and Appalachian State in another tri-meet in Buies Creek, N.C. on January 23.  The Runnin' Bulldogs will face the Mountaineers at 4:30 pm before squaring off against the Camels at 6:00 pm that evening.
 
Gardner-Webb closes out its home schedule with a tri-meet against VMI and Bellarmine on January 31, facing Bellarmine at 1:30 pm and the Keydets at 3:00 PM.  VMI and Bellarmine will face each other that afternoon at 12:00 pm.
 
GWU wraps up SoCon regular season action in a tri-meet at Presbyterian on February 6, taking on the Blue Hose and Davidson that afternoon in Clinton, S.C.  Times are to be determined.
 
Gardner-Webb is pursuing competition for the weekend of February 13-14.
 
The 2021 SoCon Wrestling Championships are set for February 28 in Boone, N.C., and the 2021 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will take place March 18-20 in St. Louis, Mo.
