Gardner-Webb's Tre Lamb Chosen For AFCA 35 Under 35

BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb head coach Tre Lamb was one of 35 coaches announced Monday as the American Football Coaches Association's (AFCA) 2021 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute.

The 2021 group was picked from a pool of more than 150 standout applications and features just 10 coaches from the NCAA Division I FCS. Only one of those FCS coaches is a head coach – Gardner-Webb's Tre Lamb.

"This is an honor to be chosen by the AFCA," said Lamb, who is currently the second-youngest head coach in the Division I ranks. "I look forward to being a part of the Leadership Institute. Some of the top coaches currently in the business came through this program. I am eager to learn from others and thankful to be in the room."

The AFCA 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute is a prestigious program aimed at identifying and developing premier, future leaders in the football coaching profession. Selected participants are invited to attend the one-day institute that features a curriculum of interactive lectures focused on topics specifically tailored to emphasize leadership in the coaching profession, ethics, influential responsibilities, career progression, and family balance. Due to the 2021 Convention being moved to the AFCA Digital library, the 2021 AFCA 35 Under 35 representatives will get to take part in the program at the 2022 AFCA Convention.
