SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb breezed by Wofford by a score of 21-7 behind seven points from
Jada Preston on Saturday afternoon.
A 5-0 scoring run for the Runnin' Bulldogs from the 24:32 mark in the first half to the 15:33 mark gave the team an early lead. All five of these goals were scored or assisted by
Lauren Deaver,
Talen Francis, or
Jada Preston, contributing to their combined 17 total points on the day.
After taking a 2-1 lead at the 24:32 mark, Gardner-Webb never allowed the game to get tied up again, leading for the remainder of the game.
The Runnin' Bulldogs went a perfect 16-16 on their clear attempts to help in the victory. On the defensive side, Gardner-Webb held the Terriers to converting on 16-23 clear attempts.
Gardner-Webb was able to control 18 draw controls to Wofford's 12 which helped the Runnin' Bulldogs take 20 more shots than their opposition.
Ten different Gardner-Webb players scored a goal. Francis and Preston both scored four. Deaver contributed three.

Hannah Mitchell,
Liz Antoshak,
Hannah Smith, and
Gabby Zerna all scored one apiece.
Of the 22 goals scored by Gardner-Webb, 12 of the goals came off assists from nine different players with Preston's three leading the team. Francis had two assists. Mitchell, Smith, Gately,
Tori Birks,
Hailey Maranto, Zerna, and Deaver had one assist each.
This puts Gardner-Webb at 3-3 on the season as they pick up their first road win of the season.
