Nine Runnin’ Bulldogs Named to 2020 SoCon Spring Academic All-Conference Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Gardner-Webb wrestling placed nine student-athletes on the 2020 Southern Conference Spring Academic All-Conference team, as announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office.
Earning spots on the Academic All-Conference team were Brandon Bright (Edmond, Okla.), Roderick Davis (Powder Springs, Ga.) , Kyle Homet (Waynesburg, Pa.) , RJ Mosley (Oklahoma City, Okla.), Gabriel Pickett (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.), Evan Schenk (Painesville, Ohio), Anthony Schiess (Cary, N.C.), Conrad Schiess (Cary, N.C.), and Joshua Walker (Newton, N.C.).
To be eligible for the SoCon Academic All-Conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the spring semester, and must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions.
Gardner-Webb finished the 2019-20 season with a 5-9 overall record, including 3-4 in SoCon duals. The Runnin' Bulldogs finished the season strong, taking four of their last six bouts, including the final three conference matchups.
