Gardner-Webb Men's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season On Daniel Island

DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Gardner-Webb men's golf wrapped up its 2021 fall season in the Low Country of South Carolina, finishing 15th at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished just four strokes behind Big South member Winthrop and edged Lehigh by three strokes. Seton Hall (-6) and South Carolina (-2) both shot under par to lead the field.
Gardner-Webb was paced by veterans Jake Scruggs (72-73-80-225) and Zack Byers (73-75-77-225), who finished in a tie for 49th individually.
Maxwell White (74-75-79-228) was three strokes behind that duo in 61st. Mark Chandler (78-76-80-234) and Miles Albright (83-83-77-243) rounded out the Gardner-Webb contingent.
College of Charleston golfer Nevill Ruiter shot 4-under for the tournament (212) to win medalist honors.
