FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After putting a scare into UNLV on opening night, Gardner-Webb's long road trip continues this weekend as the Runnin' Bulldogs depart Las Vegas for Fayetteville and a Saturday afternoon showdown with the No. 16 team in the nation in the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Tip time inside the sold-out, 19,300-seat Bud Walton Arena is set for 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. CT.

Fans can tune in on SEC Network Plus via Watch ESPN Online with Josh Haley on play-by-play and former 11-year NBA veteran Ronnie Brewer as color analyst.

Audio of the game will also be carried online on the Learfield Razorback Sports Network, as well as Sirius/XM Radio online on Channel 962.

The matchup will pin Gardner-Webb against a ranked opponent for the fifth time in the last five seasons and for the first time since the 'Dogs faced No. 6 UNC in Chapel Hill on Nov. 15, 2019.

Gardner-Webb and Arkansas have only met on one previous occasion. The Razorbacks won that meeting, 79-63, on Nov. 27, 2004 in Fayetteville.

Coming off its first matchup against a Mountain West Conference school since 2004, Gardner-Webb will now face its first SEC opponent since South Carolina on Nov. 22, 2019 in the Cancun Challenge. The 'Dogs nearly pulled off that upset, falling to the Gamecocks by only five, 74-69.

The Runnin' Bulldogs check into Saturday's tilt at 0-1, while Arkansas sports a 1-0 record and is fresh off a 74-61 home win over Mercer in its season opener on Tuesday.

Led by D'Maurian Williams with his first-career double-double and a pair of career-highs with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Gardner-Webb nearly pulled off an upset to open its season on Wednesday before ultimately coming up six points short in a 64-58 final. GWU had a chance to take the lead at the free throw stripe with 47 ticks remaining, but was unable to convert and move ahead.

The stingy 'Dogs defense locked down UNLV from both the field and from downtown, limiting the Runnin' Rebels to just 30.3% shooting and a 2-for-25 clip from 3-point land. Meanwhile, Arkansas' JD Notae was one of just three players on opening night of college basketball this week to eclipse the 30-point mark.
