DURHAM, N.C. – Three days after taking on No. 16 Arkansas, Gardner-Webb is set to cap off a three-game road trip to open the season when it travels east for an in-state showdown against No. 7 Duke on Tuesday night, November 16.
Tipoff inside Cameron Indoor Stadium is slated for 7 p.m. on the Regional Sports Networks, including Bally's Sports South, with Eric Collins and Don Bonner on the call.

The game pins Gardner-Webb against its second consecutive nationally-ranked opponent after the Runnin Bulldogs' fell to the No. 16 Razorbacks in Fayetteville this past Saturday, 86-69. The Blue Devils moved up two spots from No. 9 to No. 7 in the latest AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll released on Monday afternoon.
The last time Gardner-Webb faced back-to-back ranked opponents was four years ago when it took on No. 12 Miami and No. 7 Florida in its opening two games of the 2017-18 season. Tuesday will mark GWU's sixth game against a ranked opponent in its last five campaigns.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are no strangers to ACC competition. Gardner-Webb played two ACC opponents last season in Pittsburgh and No. 21 Florida State and has totaled eight games against the ACC in the last five years, picking up wins in two of those during its run to the NCAA Tournament in 2018-19 against Georgia Tech and Wake Forest.
Gardner-Webb and Duke have met just twice previously with the Blue Devils winning both at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The two teams last met on December 16, 2013, an 85-66 final score in head coach
Tim Craft's first season at the helm.
The matchup will be the highest ranked opponent Gardner-Webb has seen since playing at No. 6 North Carolina on Nov. 15, 2019. The last time the 'Dogs took down a ranked team came back on Nov. 7, 2007, a convincing 84-68 win over No. 20 Kentucky in Lexington.

Kareem Reid its last time out versus No. 16 Arkansas. Soumaoro erupted for five 3-pointers, while Reid connected on 7-of-10 from the field as the 'Dogs went toe-to-toe with the Razorbacks in the second half, ultimately getting outscored by only one point, 44-43, over the final 20 minutes. GWU led by as many as six points with 6:46 remaining in first half, 21-15, before Arkansas used a 14-0 run to overtake the lead for good.
Through three games – all wins – Duke has held opponents to just .376 from the field and .286 from the 3-point line while averaging 9.7 steals per game and forcing opponents into a combined 43 turnovers. The game is the Blue Devils' second straight versus an opponent from the state of North Carolina after defeating Campbell, 67-56, Saturday in the Duke Veterans Day Weekend Showcase.
Following Tuesday's clash in Durham, Gardner-Webb will head home to the friendly confines of Paul Porter Arena as the Runnin' Bulldogs welcome men's basketball back to Boiling Springs with a 4 p.m. tilt against Carver on Saturday, Nov. 20.
