RALEIGH, N.C. – Gardner-Webb (0-4) softball took their fourth-straight loss to N.C. State (8-2) in the final game of the series on Sunday afternoon. The Wolfpack took home the win with a final score of 8-0.
GWU only managed to connect with the ball three times throughout the ballgame, as
Weslyn Almond,
Andrea Lyon, and
Abbey Goodrum were each able to get one hit apiece off of N.C. State's pitchers.
However, those three hits were not enough to convert for the 'Dogs, as seven total runners were left on base in today's game.
Brooke Perry started in the circle for the Runnin' Bulldogs, pitching for a total of four innings. Out of the 22 batters that Perry faced she had two strikeouts. Only four hits and four runs were allowed in Perry's performance today.
Relief pitcher

"Our sticks have been silent the entire series and today was no different," said Head Coach
Tom Cole. "We'll be glad to get some missing players back in the line-up come Thursday and we'll be anxious to get back on the field again Tuesday, preparing to do a better job the next time out."
