BOILING SPRINGS – In a sudden change to the broadcast schedule, Gardner-Webb's Thursday night affair vs. Presbyterian will now be on national television via ESPNU.
The game will tip off at 7:00 pm from Paul Porter Arena as planned, but now Matt Schick and Paul Biancardi will provide the call on the national airwaves.
Gardner-Webb (6-10, 5-7 Big South) is looking to bounce back from a physical series vs. High Point last week and will face another challenge in the Blue Hose (5-9, 3-7 Big South). Presbyterian won both of last year's meetings – including a national 68-62 win in Boiling Springs.
The Runnin' Bulldogs hold a 28-23 edge in the all-time series, which dates back to both programs' NAIA days in the 1970s.
Gardner-Webb is led by senior guard
Jaheam Cornwall (13.3 ppg), junior guard
Jacob Falko (10.8 ppg) and freshman standout
D'Maurian Williams (10.5 ppg). Both Cornwall and Williams are bonafide deep threats for the 'Dogs, with each hitting more than 38 percent on the season.
Jordan Sears (42.6 percent) has come on of late, starting the last eight games and averaging 8.0 points per contest on the year.
Presbyterian is paced by freshman guard Rayson Harrison (15.0 ppg) and Francis Marion transfer Winston Hill (12.9 points, 6.6 rebounds per game). Owen McCormack (9.9 ppg) and Trevon Reddish (9.7 ppg) also score near double figures for second-year skipper Quinton Ferrell.
