CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Wednesday, the Big South Conference announced its Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Competitions held March 8-14. Naming Julian Smallwood the Gardner-Webb redshirt-senior (Buffalo, N.Y.) the Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Smallwood won the shot put at the Winthrop Spring Invitational with a school-record throw of 17.28m, which ranks sixth all-time in Big South history.
 
Gardner-Webb Track and Field will be back in action on March 26 & 27 at the Winthrop Invitational.
