BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – In the first game of this weekend's series, Gardner-Webb Softball suffered a 6-0 loss to Radford on Friday evening at Brinkley Stadium.
R-Senior
Brooke Perry took the loss for Gardner-Webb, throwing for just two innings in the circle Perry allowed seven hits and three runs. Perry threw the lone strikeout of tonight's game.
Senior
Laken Myers pitched for two innings as well, allowing five hits, three runs, and one wild pitch.
Freshman
Sydney Gilbert wrapped up the night for GWU in the circle. While putting in two innings of work, Gilbert allowed zero hits and runs in the eight batters that she faced.
Radford paced the night with 12 hits, Autumn Slemaker (3-for-4) led the highlanders, while Tali Douglas (2-for-4) and Abby Wilson (2-for-4, 3 RBI) each had two apiece.
In tonight's matchup Gardner-Webb left a total of ten runners stranded on base, while Radford only left seven.
Gardner-Webb Softball will be back in action Saturday, March 26
th as they take on Radford in doubleheader action at Brinkley Stadium. Game times are slated for 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
