Gardner-Webb Splits Doubleheader to Presbyterian

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Runnin' Bulldogs Softball split its pair of games against the Blue Hose on Friday afternoon at Brinkley Stadium. Taking home a win in the first game 3-1, Gardner-Webb, and dropping the second 9-1, Presbyterian.

GAME ONE: Gardner-Webb 3, Presbyterian 1

In the circle, Brooke Perry took the win improving her record to 2-9 this season. Pitching the full seven frames, Perry only allowed three hits, one run, and fanned 11 batters.

All of Gardner-Webb's scoring occurred in the bottom of the second inning. It started with an RBI single from Meredith Ferguson, which allowed Tristan Horrell to come home. Then with the bases loaded, the Blue Hose walked Leslie McNeil and Weslyn Almond, allowing Jenna Wacaster and Bailey Short to cross home plate.

The Blue Hose tried to make a comeback in the sixth inning, as Clark hit a home run to try and close the gap, but it was not enough for Presbyterian to do so.
