Softball Takes Home Win Over Presbyterian On Senior Day

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – On Saturday afternoon, Gardner-Webb softball locked in their fourth win of the season. Today's win came over Presbyterian in a quick matchup, with the final score 1-0, Gardner-Webb.
 
"Today's game was a very well-played game with dominant pitching and solid defense," said Head Coach Tom Cole. "The difference was that PC's pitcher made one mistake which Brooke Perry was able to capitalize on, which sealed the win for us."
 
Brooke Perry took the win from the circle for Gardner-Webb in todays matchup. Allowing just five hits and fanning five of the Blue Hose out of a total of 25 batters faced in seven innings of work.
 
Taking the loss for PC, Haley Haselden pitched a total of six innings, allowing two hits and one run in the matchup.
 
The Blue Hose paced the game in hits with a total of five, Rebecca Clark led by going 2-for-3, while three of their batters had just one hit each.
 
The Runnin' Bulldog's only managed to get two hits in today's game. Mackenzie Lawrence and Brooke Perry each went 1-for-2 at the plate.
 
Perry's lone hit was the eventual game winner as she blasted a home run during her at-bat during the bottom of the fifth inning.
 
Gardner-Webb Softball will be back in action on Tuesday, April 6th, as they take on Campbell at Brinkley Stadium. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
