Track & Field Wraps Up Competition On Day Three Of The 2021 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships

HIGH POINT, N.C. – On Wednesday night Gardner-Webb Track & Field wrapped up their third and final day at the 2021 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
 
Joshua Fischer took bronze for Gardner-Webb in the men's discuss by hitting a mark of 47.49 meters, which marks a personal best in the event for Fischer.
 
As for the women's discus, Karmen Taylor took fourth place by hitting a mark of 41.98 meters, which marks a personal best for her and a new top four program record.
 
In the women's 4x100 meter relay, the Runnin' Bulldogs placed eighth overall with a time of 52.81 seconds at the finish.
 
Ethan Bentley ran a personal best time of 4:06.61 in the men's 1,500-meter.
 
Khalilah Conway placed seventh in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.20 seconds.
 
As for the women's 400-meter, Amira Austin placed sixth for Gardner-Webb by finishing with a time of 58.52 seconds.
 
Chase Thornhill took home the bronze for GWU in the men's 400-meter by clocking in a time of 47.91 seconds at the finish.
 
In the women's 800 meter, Hannah Mitchell placed sixth with a time of 2:18.20 at the finish.
 
Khalilah Conway took eighth in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:19.04 at the finish.
 
On the men's side of the 400-meter hurdles, Austin Buzzard placed fifth with a time of 57.44 seconds at the finish line.
 
As for the women's 5,000-meter, Amy Prugh ran a personal best time of 18:52.01, and teammate Jennifer Escalera ran a personal best time of 20:29.74.
 
In the women's 4x400 meter relay the squad of Taylor Hotchkiss, Kelsey Houser, Amira Austin, and Hannah Mitchell took sixth place with a time of 3:59.77.
 
In the last event of the day, the squad of James Hinton, Chase Thornhill, Patrick Sastre, and Kaleb Hewitt captured fourth place overall with a time of 3:19.87 in the event.
