ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team took down Winthrop on Saturday afternoon inside the Winthrop Coliseum with a final score of 77-51. Today's win marks the third consecutive victory for the Runnin' Bulldogs and is the largest winning streak so far this season. 
 
The 'Dogs biggest lead of the night was 28 points with 31 seconds left in the fourth period, while their best scoring run of 11 points occurred with 6:24 left in the first period. 
 
Gardner-Webb shot 41.3% (33-for-80) in field goal-range, 24.1% (7-for-29) from beyond the arc, and 25.0% (4-for-16) at the charity stripe. The Runnin' Bulldogs scored 48 points in the paint, 30 points off of turnovers, and 23 second-chance points. 
 
Winthrop shot 34.0% (18-for-53) from the floor, 25.0% (2-for-8) from three-point range, and 54.2% (13-for-24) from the free-throw line. The Eagles scored 31 bench points, 30 points in the paint, and 14 second-chance points.
 
Senior Jhessyka Williams led the pack with 20 points (9-17 FG, 1-2 3PT, 1-4 FT), six rebounds, four steals, one block, and one assist. Junior Lauren Bevis followed with 14 points (5-13 FG, 4-10 3PT), one assist, and a single steal. Sophomore Alasia Smith was the only other player to put up double digits in today's contest, as she scored 12 points (6-7 FG), nine rebounds, six steals, and three assists. 
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, January 18, as they take on Presbyterian College at home inside Paul Porter Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will stream live on ESPN+.
