Lynchburg, Va. – Gardner-Webb track and field hit the ground running on day two of the Brant Tolsma Invitational on Friday afternoon, with the action taking place at Liberty University inside the Indoor Track Complex.
In the women's 5,000-meter run,
Amy Prugh placed third with a personal best of 18:28.88, which is a new top-5 program record. Teammate
Chloe McDaniel placed seventh with a time of 20:40.24 at the finish.
Skyela Amsberry recorded a personal best in the women's pole vault by hitting a mark of 2.85 meters.
As for the women's long jump, Khaliliah Conway hit a new personal best mark of 4.18 meters.
Ryan McGuffin placed sixth in the men's long jump by hitting a mark of 7.12 meters.
In the men's weight throw, Nathaniel Wonsley took sixth overall by hitting a mark of 12.74 meters.
Senior Cameron Donoghue placed eighth overall in section one of the men's heptathlon. Donoghue ran a time of 7.47 in the 60-meter dash, 2:54.38 in the 1,000 meter run, 8.98 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles. Donoghue also hit marks of 1.93 meters in the high jump, 5.97 meters in the long jump, and 11.68 meters in the shot put.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow for the third day of action at the second annual Brant Tolsma Invitational.
