XC Finishes Regular Season at USC Upstate on Saturday Morning

SPARTANUBRG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb finished their regular season with the 2022 USC Upstate Invitational. The Runnin' Bulldogs' Dylan Phillips and Jessica Perriello led the way for the men's and women's teams at the meet, with Phillips posting the program's seventh-best 8K time in program history.

Perriello came across the line in 23^rd with a time of 19:15 with teammate Amy Prugh close behind at 19:26 in 28th. Rounding out the 'Dawgs top-five finishers were Camille Sykes at 20:40, Julia Reinboth at 21:14 and Jennifer Escalera 21:19. Gardner-Webb's Brooklyn Tretter finished in 21:30, Bella Drewek in 21:43, and Teryn Bour in 21:48. Overall, the women finished the meet in 8^th.

Phillips led the men's team with a time of 26:17 in 36^th with Ryan Morita as the next GWU finisher at 27:06. Ethan Bentley finished next in 29:10, Mark Mellon 31:11, and John Marsh 31:28. Cole Ray ran the 8K in 34:02 and Garry Ankrom in 34:55. The team ended the meet in 11^th place.

Gardner-Webb's next meet is the Big South Championships hosted by Longwood on Saturday, October 29.
