BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb put five men in double figures Thursday night, rolling to a 110-62 exhibition win over Erskine (S.C.) College in Paul Porter Arena.
Kareem Reid scored 20 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the floor – and 6-of-6 shooting from the free throw line – to lead the scoring parade. DQ Nicholas added 15 points,
Ademide Badmus had 13 points and the duo of
Anthony Selden and
Leon Williams scored 12 apiece for Gardner-Webb.
The Runnin' Bulldogs made 33-of-36 free throws, scored 62 points in the paint and held a 47-7 edge in bench scoring Thursday night. GWU shot 56.3 percent from the floor (36-of-64) was +29 on the glass (48-19).
Gardner-Webb had 12 different men score at least two points in the win.
Erskine was limited to 25-of-60 shooting (41.4 percent), but got 34 points from guard Jalen Canada – who made 13-of-21 attempts and five free throws in a losing effort.
De'Lanyc Shuler added nine points and Jaylen Prioleau had eight for the Flying Fleet.
