CLITON, S.C. – Gardner-Webb women's basketball took a road trip down to the Palmetto State on Tuesday evening, as they faced the Presbyterian Blue Hose in their final road contest of the regular season. The final score was 72-58, in favor of Presbyterian.
Gardner-Webb (14-14, 12-5 Big South) shot 39.7% (23-for-58) from field-goal range, 21.1% (4-for-19) from beyond the arc, and 66.7% (8-for-12) from the charity stripe. The Runnin' Bulldogs capitalized off of 32 points in the paint, 15 points off of turnovers, and 11 fast break points.
Presbyterian (10-17, 5-12 Big South) shot 53.2% (25-for-47) from the floor, 50.0% (5-for-10) from the three-point line, and 77.3% (17-for-22) at the free-throw line. The Blue hose put up 36 points in the paint, and 33 points came off of the bench.
Four of Gardner-Webb's Starters recorded double-digits in tonight's contest.
Alasia Smith led with 13 points, while the trio of
Jhessyka Williams,
Lauren Bevis, and
Ki'Ari Cain each logged 12 points apiece.
The 'Dogs will be back in action on the home court this Saturday, as they are set to take on Winthrop at 2 p.m. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
