ATHENS, Ga. – Gardner-Webb softball took a quick trip down to Athens, Georgia on Wednesday afternoon to face the University of Georgia for a matchup of the Bulldogs. UGA topped GWU with a final score of 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UGA scored five of its six runs in the second inning, putting up its final run of the day during its at-bat in the third inning.
Gardner-Webb's lone hit of the day came from third baseman
Araceli Pesqueira, as she hit a single all the way to centerfield in the top of the seventh.
Sydney Gilbert took the loss in the circle for the Runnnin' Bulldogs. Gilbert pitched two full innings, allowing six hits and five runs.
Andrea Lyon then came in for the remaining 4 innings, allowing just one hit and three 11 strikeouts.
