GREENSBORO, N.C. – Gardner-Webb kicked off its three-match weekend with a 5-2 win at UNCG on Friday.
"Our strength is doubles, but UNCG put us in a 1-0 hole, but we were able to turn the match around by winning five out of six singles matches," said Head Coach

Chrisjan Van Wyk claimed a 6-3 decision on court 2 to start doubles. UNCG got wins on courts 1 and 3 to clinch the doubles point to start the day.
The Runnin' Bulldogs stormed to four straight-set singles wins to take the lead and clinch the match.
Alex Lepine played No. 5 singles today and got a 6-2, 6-1 win for his fifth-consecutive victory.
Connor Enslin won 6-1, 6-3 at #6, followed by Van Wyk getting a 6-2, 6-4 decision at #3.
Gardner-Webb clinched their fifth victory of the season as
Sebastian Harris won in position #5, 7-5, 6-2. UNCG got their only singles win in the topflight off a 7-6 (6), 6-2 match against Putter.
Eduardo Dias closed out the afternoon with his sixth-consecutive singles win, this time from the #2 court, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5).
"I was proud of the team and how we recovered to come away with the victory," said Griffith.
Gardner-Webb plays at Elon tomorrow with the first serve scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
