BOILING SPRINGS – Winners of four in a row, Gardner-Webb (13-10, 7-3) will take its streak on the road looking to make it five straight on Wednesday night, February 9, as the Runnin' Bulldogs head to Buies Creek, N.C. to take on Campbell (13-8, 6-4) in a midweek Big South Conference showdown. Tipoff inside Gore Arena is slated for 7 p.m.
The matchup pins two of the hottest teams in the Big South. The 'Dogs have won at least four-straight for the third time this season, while the Camels check in as winners of four of their last five outings, including an 80-71 victory Saturday at USC Upstate.
Gardner-Webb is off to its best conference start as a member of the Big South. The Runnin' Bulldogs are 7-3 in league play, including a 69-62 home win over North Carolina A&T the last time out.
Anthony Selden went for 18 points and 12 rebounds to cap off his first-career double-double, and four players finished in double figures for the 'Dogs, who never trailed for the entirety of the contest against the Aggies.
Wednesday's meeting will mark the 40
th all-time between GWU and CU. Gardner-Webb leads the all-time series, 22-17, while Campbell knocked off the Runnin' Bulldogs the last time the two teams met last season in the Big South Quarterfinals.
