Softball Falls To Hampton Saturday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb faced Hampton on Saturday afternoon in the series finale to wrap up the conference opener action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Leadoff batter Abbey Goodrum led the Runnin' Bulldogs, going 2-for-4 at the plate, while scoring one run. Katie Mitchell scored the other run in today's matchup, going 1-for-3 at the plate. Andrea Lyon, Molly Montgomery, and Riley McCurry recorded the remainder of the 'Dogs hits.

Andrea Lyon (5-5) took the loss in the circle for the Runnin' Bulldogs, pitching the full game she allowed seven hits, five runs, and struck out a total of five batters.

UP NEXT
Softball will be back in action on Saturday, March 19, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will hit the road to face North Carolina A&T. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
