GREENSBORO, N.C. - Gardner-Webb faced North Carolina A&T at the Aggies Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon to wrap up the final game of the three-game league series.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
The Runnin' Bulldogs struck early by putting up two runs in the first inning. 
Andrea Lyon hit a double into play allowing 
Katie Mitchell to advance home, then shortly after 
McKenzie Lawrence was walked with the bases loaded, allowing 
Andrea Lyon to cross home plate.
 
In the second half of the first inning, the Aggie's hit a single up the middle allowing them to cut the 'Dogs lead in half. 
 
GWU managed to hold the lead until the fifth inning, where N.C. A&T managed to put up two additional runs on the board to take the lead, 3-2. 
 
Sydney Gilbert (4-4) took the loss in the circle, allowing eight hits, three runs, while striking out five batters. 
 
UP NEXT
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday, March 23, as they are set to face Western Carolina in a nonconference doubleheader bout. The first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. and the action will stream live on ESPN+.
