ROCK HILL, S.C. – Gardner-Webb track and field competed in the final day of competition at the Winthrop Classic on Saturday, clocking in several big finishes and personal bests.
Autumn Drayton took gold in the women's discus for the Runnin' Bulldogs by hitting a mark of 43.76 meters, which is a new top-three all-time program record.
Jaden Finch placed third by hitting a mark of 42.86 meters, and
Karmen Taylor placed sixth by hitting a mark of 40.49 meters.
In the women's shot put,
Jaden Finch took second (13.84 meters),
Autumn Drayton placed third (13.59 meters), and
Taliyah Wade finished in seventh (12.61 meters).
As for the men's shot put, Nat Wonsley placed fifth by hitting a mark of 14.65 meters.
In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Cameron Donoghue placed sixth with a time of 15.84 seconds. Donoghue's time is good for new top-six all-time program record.
As for the women's 100-meter hurdles,
Khalilah Conway placed seventh with a time of 17.25 seconds.
Amy Prugh placed fifth in the women's 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:51.37, which is a new personal best and top-five all-time program record.
In the women's 4 X 100-meter relay, the squad of Austin, Miranda-Rosado, Ivanov, and Payne finished in fourth with a time of 50.12 seconds.
As for the women's 100-meter hurdles,
Khalilah Conway placed seventh with a time of 17.25 seconds at the finish.
Placing seventh in the men's 110-meter hurdles, Cameron Donoghue crossed the finish line with a time of 15.84 seconds, which is a new top-nine all-time program record.
In the women's 800-meter,
Hannah Mitchell placed eighth with a time of 2:23.86,
Faith Parandhamaia followed in ninth with a time of 2:24.32. Parandhamaia's time qualifies as a new personal best for her.
In the men's 800-meter,
Patrick Sastre placed second with a time of 2:00.56 at the finish, while teammate
Joe Waller took seventh with a time of 2:04.18.
As for the women's 4 X 400-meter relay, the squad of Austin, Payne, Ivanov, and Mitchell took third with a time of 4:09.63.
In the men's 4 X 400-meter relay, the squad of Hinton, Amour, Thornhill, and Pittman claimed gold for the 'Dogs with a time of 3:20.95 at the finish.
