FARMVILLE, VA. – Gardner-Webb won their opening road Big South game of the year. The win moves Gardner-Webb to 3-0 in conference play for the second season in a row.

The 'Dogs were able to clinch the doubles point early with the matches on courts 2 and 3 being 6-0 sweeps in favor of GWU.
Numa Lemieux-Monette and
Eduardo Dias won from position 3 while
Connor Enslin and
Sebastian Harris clinched the point from position 2.
Victor Putter and
Chrisjan Van Wyk lost in the topflight off a tiebreaker.
Enslin won his match in singles 6-2, 6-0 on court #6, with
Alex Lepine's 6-2, 6-1 win on court #5. Harris clinched the team's win with a 6-2, 6-2 win from position #4.
In the remaining matches, Dias lost the first set 6-7 (6) but bounced back winning 6-2, 6-0 for a win from the #1 flight. Putter won in position #2 6-4, 6-4. The day ended with Van Wyk claiming a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11-9) win to clinch the team sweep.
"Glad to get this match behind us as Longwood has a good team and coach that will be continuing to improve and be dangerous," said Griffith.
Gardner-Webb's next matches are at Limestone on Friday, March 11 with two scheduled against the Saints. The times for the match are at 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
