BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. –  Gardner-Webb faced Detroit Mercy on Tuesday afternoon at Brinkley Softball Stadium. The Runnin' Bulldogs put themselves back in the win column with a score of 4-1, taking down the Titans.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Titians took an early lead in the first inning by putting up a single run, as the visitors scored on a fielding error in left field.
Gardner-Webb lurched ahead in the third and fourth innings, as the Runnin' Bulldogs recorded four runs total to make it a 4-1 game. In the third, Katie Mitchell scored on a single RBI hit by Araceli Pesqueira, Andrea Lyon scored on an RBI single from Mitchell. In the fourth, Abbey Goodrum scored off of a double from Mitchell and shortly after Mitchell came home from a double hit into play for Pesqueira.
Andrea Lyon (2-5) took the win in the circle, pitching the full game she allowed three hits, one run, two walks, and struck out six batters.
