HOW IT HAPPENED
Winthrop locked in its seven runs of the day over the course of four innings to secure the win over Gardner-Webb.
Only two Runnin' Bulldogs registered a hit in today's game, as
Kayleigh Nicholson (1-for-3) and
Molly Montgomery (1-for-2) each registered a single hit.
Reese Basinger (8-9) took the win for Winthrop, pitching the full seven innings and allowing just two hits. Basinger struck out six Runnin' Bulldogs throughout the game.
Andrea Lyon (7-13) took the loss in the circle for GWU, throwing for six innings she allowed eight hits and six runs. Lyon struck out six Eagles in today's matchup.
