Game One: Gardner-Webb 5, USC Upstate 4
The Gardner-Webb bats were piping hot in the first inning, as a 2RBI homer belted by
Andrea Lyon and a 2RBI Double my
Molly Montgomery put the 'Dogs up 5-0. USC Upstate tried to equilze later on in the sixth and seventh but came up just a single run short, allowing the 'Dogs to clinch the series victory.
Six different Runnin' Bulldogs garnered a hit in game one, recording team total of eight.
Andrea Lyon (8-14) took the win in the circle, pitching the full seven frames she allowed eight hits, four runs, one walk, and stuck out one batter
Game Two: USC Upstate 7, Gardner-Webb 0
The Spartans came back in game two, putting up seven runs, spread out over the second, fourth, and fifth innings to take the victory.
Four 'Dogs locked in a hit in game two, with
Araceli Pesqueira (2-for-2) gathering two hits for GWU.
Baylee Short (1-0) took the loss in the circle, pitching a total of four innings, allowing eight hits and four runs.
