Softball Splits Twinbill At Radford

RADFORD, Va. – Gardner-Webb softball faced Radford today to conclude the conference series, ultimately splitting the action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Gardner-Webb 6, Radford 3
 
Five Runnin' Bulldogs registered a hit in the first game of the day. Araceli Pesqueira led the team with two hits, while Andrea Lyon, Abbey Goodrum, Kayleigh Nicholson, and Molly Montgomery each had one hit apiece.
 
Pitching the full game, Andrea Lyon (6-8) took the win in the circle, allowing four hits, three runs, and five walks. Lyon faced 31 total batters and stuck out six of them at the plate.
 
 
Game Two: Radford 5, Gardner-Webb 0
 
The Highlanders took an early lead to start game two, as the put up a three-run homer in the first inning. Which was followed by two additional runs in the third inning, extending Radford's lead to 5-0.
 
Pesqueira led the 'Dogs at the plate again throughout game two, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
 
UP NEXT
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, April 5, as they are set to face ESTU on the road. The first pitch is set for 2 p.m. in Johnson City, Tennessee.
