BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb men's basketball added a key piece to its 2022-2023 roster on Tuesday, as transfer wing Caleb Robinson signed with the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Robinson (Lake Charles, La.) joins the GWU family after leading the Division II South Atlantic Conference in scoring as a freshman this past season at Catawba College.
"Caleb is a terrific fit with our program and we anticipate a bright future for him here at Gardner-Webb," said head coach Tim Craft. "His energy on the court and versatility is impressive."
The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder averaged 18.4 points per game – and bumped that average to 18.7 points per game against conference foes. He played 29.2 minutes per game and averaged 6.6 rebounds to go with his scoring success.
He scored 20 or more points nine times on the season, including a career-best 42 points in a win at Limestone. In that game, he knocked down 16-of-19 from the floor and pulled down 10 rebounds. Robinson recorded six double-doubles in 2021-2022 for Catawba.
He earned first-team All-South Atlantic Conference honors during his lone season in Salisbury, N.C.
Prior to signing with Catawba, Robinson played his final high school season at Core 4 Prep in Chamblee, Ga. He earned All-Tournament honors at the 2020 Big Shots Prep Nationals, averaging 14.0 points per game.
Robinson played at Lake Charles (La.) College Prep in his hometown before moving to Georgia for his final season in the prep ranks.
