Gardner-Webb Wraps Up Dual Meet Against Winthrop Thursday Evening

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb track and field team competed against Winthrop University on Thursday Evening in dual meet action.
 
In the women's 4X400-meter relay, the squad of Austin, Miranda-Rosado, Ivanov, and Payne placed first for the Runnin' Bulldogs with a time of 50.87 seconds at the finish line.
 
As for the men's 4X400-meter relay, the squad of Hinton, Thornhill, Pittman, and Amour placed second by one tenth of a second, completing the event with a time of 41.55 seconds.
 
Gardner-Webb swept first through fifth place in the women's 1,000-meters. Amy Prugh (307.69) claimed first, Hannah Mitchell (3:10.59) took second, Camile Sykes (3:13.60) followed in third, Faith Parandhamaia (3:14.01) placed fourth, and Brooklyn Tretter placed fifth (3:18.87).
 
Ryan Morita placed first for the 'Dogs in the men's 1,000-meters with a time of 2:40.78 at the finish, while teammate Cole Ray placed fourth with a time of 3:38.90.
 
Khalilah Conway took gold in the women's 100-meter hurdles, clocking in a time of 15.79 seconds.
 
Amy Prugh (1:05.31) and Kendall Reece (1:05.98) completed the one-two sweep in the women's 400-meters.
 
In the men's 400-meters, Patick Sastre took first with a time of 50.56 seconds, teammate Joe Waller followed in second with a time of 51.85 seconds. Ryan Morita clocked in a fourth-place finish with a time of 54.74 seconds.
 
As for the women's 100-meter dash, Sarianna Miranda-Rosado placed second with a time of 12.61 seconds. Payne (12.74) took fifth, Ivanov (12.82) took sixth, and Austin (13.55) placed seventh.
 
Gardner-Webb completed the one-two-three sweep in the men's 100-meter dash. Chase Thornhill took the gold with a time of 10.80 seconds, Sean Amour followed in second with a time of 10.94 seconds, and James Hinton followed in third with a time of 11.04 seconds.
 
Taylor Robinson placed first in the women's 3,000-meters with a time of 11:27.22 at the finish, teammate Chole McDaniel followed in second with a time of 11:29.41 at the finish.
 
In the women's 4X400-meter relay, Gardner-Webb's A squad (4:29.13) placed second, with the B squad (4:45.18) placing third.
 
As for the men's 4X400-meter relay, Gardner-Webb's A squad place second with a time of 3:31.81 at the finish.
 
Conway placed third overall in the women's long jump by hitting a mark of 4.12 meters.
 
Cameron Donghue placed second in the men's long jump by hitting a mark of 6.07 meters.
 
Gardner-Webb completed the one-two-three sweep in the women's shot put, as Autumn Drayton (13.07) took first, Jaden Finch (12.32) claimed second, and Taliyah Wade (11.99) placed third.
 
Gardner-Webb completed the one-two-three sweep yet again in the women's discus, as Autumn Drayton (44.30) claimed gold, Jaden Finch (40.30) placed second, and Karmen Taylor (39.73) followed in third.
 
Donoghue placed second in the men's discus by hitting a distance of 34.33 meters.
 
In the men's hammer, Josh Fischer took gold by hitting a distance of 52.96 meters, teammate Nate Wonsley followed in second by hitting a mark of 42.08 meters.
 
As for the women's hammer, Autumn Drayton took first by hitting a distance of 50.37 meters, while teammate Jaden finch placed second by hitting a mark of 47.46 meters.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, April 15, as they are set to partake in the Catamount Classic.
