BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldog fans from across campus and in the community are invited to a DAWG Walk on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 4 p.m. 

The route begins at Tucker Student Center's back patio. Cheer on the team as it heads to the locker room before the first Thursday night season opener at home in program history.   

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (ESPN+) as the Dawgs face the Limestone Saints in Spangler Stadium – only the second Thursday night home game in Gardner-Webb football history.

The Runnin' Bulldogs plan to walk down by the lake, turn to go across the red bridge and up the stairs to the stadium. Family, friends, and fans will also be needed to line Bulldog Circle as the team makes its way to the locker rooms.

Gardner-Webb welcomes back 24 starters and 62 letterwinners from last season and enter the 2022 campaign with one of the most experienced, deep teams in recent memory. GWU claimed 10 spots on the preseason All-Big South Conference team, including preseason Big South Offensive Player of the Year Narii Gaither (Rock Hill, S.C.). Gaither and defensive end Ty French were each named to preseason FCS All-America teams by both Stats Perform and Phil Steele's College Football Preview in August.

Other game day changes include a new clear bag policy, with all non-transparent bags or items, including backpacks, binocular/camera cases, cinch bags, computer bags, fanny packs or purses larger than 4.5" x 6.5" prohibited from all athletic venues.
