BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Men's Tennis dropped their match at Kennesaw State on Saturday by a 6-1 decision. The Owls moved to 4-0 on the season following the victory.
 
"We were up in doubles but let that slip away," said Head Coach Mike Griffith. "We cannot do that and beat good teams."
 
In doubles play, Chrisjan Van Wyk and Eduardo Dias picked up a win on court #2 by a 6-3 score. Then KSU took the wins on courts 1 and 3 in tiebreakers to get the point from doubles to get the early lead in the overall score.
 
Kennesaw State got straight set wins on courts 3, 5, and 6 to seal the team's win early. The match clinch came from position #6 by Anthony Weingarten.
 
The next match to complete with Dias' in the topflight where he won 6-3, 5-7, (10-8). The victory keeps him unblemished in singles this year as he now stands at 2-0. Victor Putter dropped a close battle at #4 as he lost 7-6 (6), 3-6, (10-7). The day ended with Lepine falling at #2, 4-6, 6-3, 2-6.
 
"We are looking forward to tomorrow's match and the chance of continuing to get better," said Griffith.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow, Monday, January 30 at 2:30 as they travel to face Lenoir-Rhyne. The home opener will be this Wednesday as GWU will be hosting Lees-McRae for it.
