BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb men's soccer welcomed Christian Hester as its goalkeeping coach, rounding out the coaching staff for the 2023 season.
 
Hester previous served as a goalkeeping coach with Appalachian FC of the NPSL and with the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club in the ECNL.
 
"Christian has a recent history of climbing the ladder," said head coach Scott Wells. "I think to juggle both of his positions with App FC and Charlotte Independence shows a lot of work ethic and commitment to development. Christian will lead our goalkeeping union and bring a lot of ideas from his additional roles."
 
Hester played collegiately at Averett College in Danville, Va., seeing action between the posts from 2015-2018. The Salisbury, N.C., native played prep soccer at East Rowan (N.C.) High.
