BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Women's Lacrosse dropped their game to Robert Morris on Wednesday by a 14-8 score.
The Runnin' Bulldogs scored the first of the game behind the stick of
Bria Foley. At the end of the first quarter, RMU led 5-3 after a pair of back-to-back games to get ahead. The second quarter saw each team score a goal apiece and the Colonials took a 6-4 lead into the halftime break.
Robert Morris used 4-2 scores in the third and fourth quarters to stretch their lead out and claim the win.
The Colonials had a 16-10 advantage from the draw circle which led to a large shots taken margin. Sherrod led the team in draw controls as she had five. GWU scooped more groundballs than RMU as they had a 17-14 edge at the end of the 60 minutes.
Alera Cornett led the team in points as she tallied a hat trick in goals.

Rylee Gonzalez, Sherrod and Foley each netted a score. Gonzalez' marked the first goal of her career.
Jada Preston dished the lone assist of the game.
Grace Briggs had a career day with groundballs as she collected six to go along with two caused turnovers and two draw controls.
Ella Straub had a career-high three groundballs in the matchup.
Heather Lobas caused three turnovers and had two groundballs during the action. In addition to her goal, Connor had two groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Danielle Burke got the start in goal and played 48:50 minutes between the pipes and made 11 saves while giving up 12 goals.
Lauren Cretella stepped in for the final 11:10 and made four saves on six shots on goal.
Gardner-Webb has two nonconference games left before the start of their Big South schedule. The nonconference slate ends with the team's trip to Ohio starting this weekend as they will face Akron (3/12) and Youngstown State (3/14) during the start of spring break.
