CLINTON, S.C. –
Bria Foley netted the game-winning goal against Presbyterian with two minutes left in the game to give Gardner-Webb their second league win of the season. Foley finished the evening with seven points to continue her impressive string of games and score her 50
th point of the season.
Gardner-Webb never trailed in the game, but the Blue Hose fought back on three different occasions after trailing by multiple goals to tie it back up.
The 'Dogs held a 6-5 advantage into the halftime break, but PC brought it even at 6-6 five minutes into the third quarter. GWU immediately responded with a four-goal run that put them ahead 10-6 with 20 minutes left in regulation.
Presbyterian cut into it with a two-goal flurry to end the third, but Gardner-Webb responded with one of theirs to begin the fourth. The Blue Hose slowly crawled their way back into it as they notched four unanswered to tie it at 12 apiece with less than four minutes left to go.
GWU won the ensuing draw but turned it over awarding Presbyterian the ball with a chance to put them back ahead. The Blue Hose's Mickey Paredes, who brought it even at 12s, turned it back over to GWU and they had a successful clear on it.

Bria Foley near the goal and pushed it past the keeper to put Gardner-Webb back ahead at 13-12.
Brittany Sherrod secured the draw, but the PC defensive pressure forced a turnover and gave them another chance to bring it equal.
Presbyterian's Abby Edmisten drew a foul and got a free-position opportunity with thirty seconds to play. Edmisten had scored six on the day off seven shots, but Burke collected the save for her ninth stop of the day to secure the road victory.
Foley led the team with seven points as she had four goals and three assists on the day.
Jada Preston was next on the team with four, scoring three and dishing an assist. Foley and Preston each have 21 assists on the year which ranks 5
th most in a single season in GWU history.
Sherrod also got in the scoring column with two goals while
Alera Cornett and
Rylee Gonzalez each had one. Cornett, Duchscherer, and Gonzalez then all finished with one assist. Sherrod had the lone Gardner-Webb goal off a free-position shot as well during the game.
Burke led the team in groundballs and she finished with three with
Grace Briggs scooping three for herself. There were eight players that each had one. With cause turnovers, there were six players that each forced one.
Gardner-Webb won the draw battle today for back-to-back games with the 'Dogs getting the edge in this with Martin's experience continuing to show the team's performances game-by-game. GWU held a 17-12 margin with Duchscherer having the team-high with five. Sherrod then had the next most with four and Foley had three.
The Runnin' Bulldogs now stand at 2-4 in league competition and will travel to third-placed Furman (4-2) on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ as well. This will mark the third consecutive road game for GWU with each of them being competed in South Carolina.
