Gardner-Webb Falls to ETSU at Home

GWU generates solid chances in loss

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team dropped their home contest against East Tennessee State on Sunday at home by a final score of 3-0. Camila Lezcano and Alva Jonsson picked up shots in the match.

"ETSU had a great game and a really organized attack," said coach Murphy. "They really did a great job on their finishes. We are trying to get a lot of different players involved, and get experience in the game."

GWU generated scoring chances and played solid defense in the first half. ETSU's scored off an own goal in the 54th minute to go in front. Sinoxolo Cesane tallied a pair of goals for ETSU after that in the 61st minute, and the 89th minute to add to the lead.

Gardner-Webb's next match is scheduled for Thursday, at 7:00 p.m. when they travel to the University of North Carolina.
