BOILING SPRINGS, NC – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team fell against the Bears of Mercer University by a final score of 4-0 on Thursday evening. Mercer was able to pull away from the Runnin' Bulldogs due to scoring chances late in the contest.
"We had a goal of increasing our attack and we did that.", said coach Murphy. "I am really happy about that because we can build on those things that we created in the attack tonight."

th minute getting the ball past
Stephanie Liu on the left side. Larkin Thompson doubled the lead in the 34
th minute. In the second half Jada Moorman scored her second of the evening in the 55
th minute off a long cross that made its way into the net. Mercer tallied their fourth in the 80
th minute.
Megan Gettys had three shots in the match for Gardner-Webb including one on goal.
Julianna Jatkola pressed the attack generating a shot on goal.
"We just need to continue to create and take shots from the attacking opportunities that we are creating." Coach Murphy added.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action next week on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 6:00 p.m. when they travel to South Carolina State.
