BOILING SPRINGS, NC – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team fell in their Big South opening match against the Lancers of Longwood University by a final score of 4-0 on Wednesday evening. The Runnin' Bulldogs generated five shots on goal in the match.
Alex Dinger opened the scoring for Longwood in the 26
th minute vaulting in a goal from up high. This was the only goal tallied in the first half. The Lancers scored three goals in the second 45 minutes. Julia Gill scored in the 47
th minute, Madison Fitzpatrick tallied hers in the 63
rd minute, and Kaley Unger put in the final goal of the match in the 83
rd minute.
