Runnin’ Bulldogs Compete at Furman Invite Saturday Morning

Gardner-Webb records solid finishes at Furman University
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Gardner-Webb Cross Country competed in its first 6k of the 2023 fall season on Saturday morning at the Furman Invite with the men finishing 7th and the women finishing 9th.
Freshman Nathan Cremin crossed the line first for the men's side, finishing 68th with a time of 21:12. Junior Ryan Morita followed behind Cremin with a time of 21:51 and a 74th place finish. Junior Mark Mellon, freshman Kaden Pratt, freshman Austin DeGeorge, and junior Cole Ray rounded out the men's side with 83rd, 85th, 87th, and 94th place finishes.
Sophomore Jessica Perriello led the women's team finishing 63rd at 24:43. Junior Chloe McDaniel and senior Jennifer Escalera finished 81st and 85th respectfully, with times of 26:57 and 27:09. Juniors Isabela Castillo and Teryn Bour completed the women's side with times of 30:11.
The 'Dawgs will lace up next time at Winthrop University on Saturday, Sep. 30. The men will run their first 8K of the year in two weeks.
