HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team fell to the Thundering Herd of Marshall University on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 3-0. GWU continued to press the attack late in the match with sophomore midfielder Camila Lezcano generating a shot on goal.

"We have been working to try and build a foundational fitness base and so we'll keep working on that," said coach Murphy. 

Marshall was lifted to the victory by goals from Makai Laguines in the 24^th minute, Demari Curry in the 32^nd minute, and Cassidy Bell in the 59^th minute from a second half penalty shot. Freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Liu picked up three saves for Gardner-Webb.

"It was good to get Steph some game experience today," coach Murphy added. 
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs' next match is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6:00 p.m. when they return home to host the Keydets of the Virginia Military Institute.
