HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team fell to the Thundering Herd of Marshall University on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 3-0. GWU continued to press the attack late in the match with sophomore midfielder

"We have been working to try and build a foundational fitness base and so we'll keep working on that," said coach Murphy.
Marshall was lifted to the victory by goals from Makai Laguines in the 24
th minute, Demari Curry in the 32
nd minute, and Cassidy Bell in the 59
th minute from a second half penalty shot. Freshman goalkeeper
Stephanie Liu picked up three saves for Gardner-Webb.
"It was good to get Steph some game experience today," coach Murphy added.
The Runnin' Bulldogs' next match is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6:00 p.m. when they return home to host the Keydets of the Virginia Military Institute.
